The NFB National Convention is the perfect place for new traditions, and this year, the tradition continues. Join the Sports and Recreation Division as they team up with the Texas Association of Blind Students to bring you what has become one of the most anticipated traditions on the convention agenda. In 2005 the goalball games kicked off with rousing success in the great city of Louisville, and because the games were so energizing we took the ball in 2006 to the electrifying challenges of Dallas. This year we are at it again, and Atlanta will see a tournament the likes of which can only be brought to you by an always highly charged NFB National Convention. It'll be fun. It'll be educational. It'll be a wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones over a few rounds of friendly competition. Do you have what it takes? Be there and show us what you've got!

The NFB Goalball Extravaganza is open to all interested athletes regardless of age and organization affiliation. You need not be a student to play, and all athletes, blind or sighted, are expected to wear sleep shades, or something of their equivalence, as stipulated by the International Blind Sports Federation.
The National Federation of the Blind and all of its chapters, affiliates, committees and/or divisions, or any other group officially associated with the National Federation of the Blind, do not assume liability for any injury of any classification in the course of preparing for the tournament, traveling to and from the tournament, during the tournament and any injury that can be proven to have resulted from the tournament itself. Persons seeking to register to participate in the games do so at their own risk and are expected to adhere to any medical condition that could prevent or hinder their participation in any fashion. Beyond calling for emergency assistance and emergency contacts in the event of an accident, we are not expected to administer medication, nor do we assume responsibility for engaging in any medical gesture without official training among any of the persons present. Players known to be prone to abrupt seizures are encouraged to participate but should make their condition known to the officials with specific instructions on what to do in the event of an attack. Please note the facility will not provide medical staff on site. If you cannot agree to any of these prerequisites, we appreciate your interest but regret to inform you that your registration request will not be processed.
A five-dollar fee per person is not sufficient to cover facility costs, awards for winning teams, on-sight refreshments and other expenses associated with the coordination of the tournament. Your financial support or gifts in kind for the benefit of the event are strongly encouraged and greatly appreciated.
