A Word From
The President
At the time of this newsletter we are nearing the end of
the term. The student division, along with its members, is always looking to do
its
best with every event and publication that is done. And as a president, I am
always happy to see individuals that come out and give it their
all for the organization.
This year our spring conference
was a tremendous success. A big step was taken for the student division, as we
expanded our reach
by going to Lubbock and coming out very satisfied with the
results. TABS is also trying to reach out to our members by bringing TABS to
you,
in the form of luncheons, picnics, and much more. The TABS team is hard at
work to make this and much more happen in a city near you. But
the full report
will be done at our annual state convention business meeting.
If you want to become more active in the
organization, it is not impossible. We are always looking for individuals to
help. But the best way
to get involved is to attend our events and different
conventions that are held through out the year. The first convention is the
State convention that
is going to be held in San Antonio November 9 through the
11. And not to be forgotten, the national convention set to be held in Dallas in
the
summer of 2008.
With no further ado, I welcome you to this addition of
Keeping TABS. If you would like to submit an article, please do so. We are
always
looking for stories that show the success of the blind.
Sincerely,
Jose A. Z. Martinez, President
